The midsole cushioning is created from Salomon's unique EnergyCell , providing high levels of energy return, adding a spring to your step while also delivering high levels of cushioning and durability. Combined with VIBE cushioning, a material that helps to absorb the shock and vibration on foot landing, creating a smoother transition through the stride. A final aspect of the midsole is OPAL, a lightweight, durable and highly cushioning compound inserted into the mix to give increased comfort on the road.

Salomon's unique Geometric Decoupling works with the foot to allow smooth and efficient load guidance, to create an effortless ride. This system is orientated along the central length of the Sonic RA Pro 2, giving this model the fastest and and most neutral guidance.

The Sonic RA 2 offers the SensiFit around the upper, wrapping and cradling the foot from the midsole to the lacing system. This produces unrivalled stability, precision and all-around snug fit, reducing the weight of the shoe.

Finally, the Contagrip outsole combines flat, wide lugs for friction grip on hard surfaces, with a compound that balances durability and adhesion.
